Guided Angler Fish (GAF) Program

The average size GAF Halibut for 2026 is 18lbs.

18 lbs. x $4.50 per lb. = $81 + $6.35 sales tax = $87.35 per GAF Halibut

On open Halibut Days a charter angler could have 2 fish of any size in area 3A one of those fish would have to be a GAF Halibut.

On closed Halibut days an angler could have up to 2 Halibut of any size, and they would both need to be GAF Halibut.

What is the Guided Angler Fish (GAF) Program?

The Catch Sharing Plan authorizes transfers of commercial halibut individual fishing quota (IFQ) as guided angler fish (GAF) to qualified charter halibut permit holders for harvest by charter vessel anglers in Areas 2C and 3A. Using GAF, qualified charter halibut permit holders may offer charter vessel anglers the opportunity to retain halibut up to the limit for unguided anglers when the charter management measure in place limits charter vessel anglers to a more restrictive harvest limit.

Weather Policy

If we are unable to take you due to bad weather your deposit will be refunded in full, and we will try to reschedule you trip. If we are on the way to the fishing grounds and must turn back due to bad weather, we will refund your deposit in full. If you fish half the day and then come in due to bad weather, you will be charged 50% of the full day fare. If you fish more than half the day & must return due to the weather, then you will be charged the full amount of the charter.

Halibut Stamps required for 2026

For the 2026 Alaska Pacific halibut fishing season, all charter anglers 18 or older must purchase an electronic halibut stamp ($20), to legally retain halibut in Areas 2C (Southeast) and 3A (South Central). The stamp is required for each day an angler intends to catch and keep halibut and must be purchased before starting the fishing trip.

These stamps will be purchased directly from Daniel’s Personalized Guide Service for the cost of $20 the morning of your fishing charter. We will be taking CASH ONLY for these stamps. No credit cards will be accepted.
